Ehline Law Firm Personal Injury Attorneys, APLC – Main Downtown LA Offices[/caption] Are you looking for a top school for your kids? Often the type and quality of a school district is a significant factor for families considering moving. There are many things to think about, including classroom size, reputation, number of teachers, and more. The average test scores might not tell the whole story, either. When all of these are factored in, you might have a bit of an understanding of which school your kids should go to. Often the attitudes of parents are a major factor in where and how the school is headed, and satisfaction of students attending there. Fortunately Niche compiled some of the top high schools in the greater LA area. We combined this info with other data in determining some of the top schools in the area.

  • At the top of the list is Troy High School, part of the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. It’s rated very highly by parents and students alike. The total number of students is about 2,800 with a student to teacher ratio at a respectable 27 to 1.
  • Next up on the list is the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, part of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. The overall number of students attending is a hair under 2,600 with a student to teacher ratio of 26:1.
  • Next up is Northwood High School, part of the Irvine Unified School District. It has under 2,200 students and a student-teacher ratio of 30:1.
  • If you’re looking for something a bit more diverse, the Granada Hills Charter school comes with high plaudits. Despite a challenging set of circumstances, this school in the LA Unified School District welcomes over 4,600 students. In fact, it has one of the lowest students to teacher ratios in the area, at a whopping 19-1.
  • Next is the California Academy of Mathematics and Science or CAMS. This is part of the Long Beach Unified School District. It has just under 700 students and a student/teacher ratio of 30:1.
