We see some concerts and other events within its confines. The amenities with n and other features make it one of the most popular Arenas in the country.

More than Just LA Sports

The Staple Center is perhaps best known for hosting hockey and basketball. For each sport, the arena holds about 18,000 people, about 19,000 for basketball, and 18,000 for Hockey. For concerts, the arena can hold a bit more calm about 20,000 people. Outside of the center, are several statues of major sports and other figures that once performed here. These include statues of Wayne Gretzky and Magic Johnson. In 2008 a statue of Oscar De La Hoya was also unveiled. The stadium was built in 1998 and 1999 and was privately financed and named after the company Staples. There were many major music acts within the stadium itself. The first one was for the opening by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Also, there was a major refurbishment of much of the stadium in 2010. This included refurbished locker rooms for the Clippers, Kings, and Lakers. There was also a new scoreboard installed. Some nonsports or music related events also took place at the Centre. This includes his 2000 Democratic National Convention. This also consists of the 2009 memorial service for Michael Jackson. Furthermore, the center also hosted the grand finals of the world championship for the video game League of Legends. Also between 2009 and 2014, the stadium also hosted the WWE event SummerSlam.
